This song began as a chord progression I started goofing around with one day. I loved the feel, and a melody bubbled up fairly quickly. The more I played it the more I loved it. Gradually the song started to inform me as to what it was about, and then the lyrics gradually came together. There's no happy ending, just an expression of the feeling that one feels after going though a breakup, a tough one that just takes a lot of time to get over before you're ready to move on.  - Paul Fifield

Winter's come and gone, days are long, and getting longer
Thought I'd be okay by now, thought I'd learn how to be stronger

Don't think that way no more, still feel the way I felt before
When she went storming out my door, my heart went with her

You know I've tried to go out, paint the town, meet somebody
Thought if I could have some fun, with anyone, might get lucky

Don't think that way no more, still feel the way I felt before
When she went storming out my door, my heart went with her

Ain't it funny how we fool ourselves, how we make ourselves believe
Thoughts that are convenient, I thought she could never leave

Summer shut the door, days are short, and getting shorter
Thought I'd make a brand new start, thought I'd put my heart in order

Don't think that way no more, still feel the way I felt before
When she went storming out my door, my heart went with her
When she went storming out my door, my heart just withered
