Over the course of a couple of decades I recorded, on digital recorders of various makes and finally on iPhone versions, snippets of song ideas that I would get whenever I'd pick up my guitar. Even sometimes while doing other things, like driving, an idea would hit me and I'd sing a melody and/or a beat into the device. I got prolific at having new ideas, new feels, etc., and horrible at doing anything with them. I tried to think of these snippets as entities that were patiently waiting for me to get back to them and that helped me to not feel bad about leaving them behind but I was always on to the next new idea and never had time for the old ones. Well, with the advent of AI music generators, I now can take one of these really raw sounding snippets and have the AI generate backing tracks that follow the chord progression and melody. This process inspires me to actually dig in and turn snippets into full songs.
Dreams Have Their Reasons

[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
Dreams have their reasons… I suppose…
What they may be… so hard to know…
I'm lost in a dream… strange things appear…
And why… do those faces…. return… through the years?
[Verse 2]
Enduring confusion… wandering around
World incoherent…connections not found
Ev’ry dream ev’ry dream… mis-renders my brain
Still… just the same… I know… I’m not insane
[Verse 3]
Dreams have their meanings… I suppose…
Just what they are… I never know…
All that I know is… I am here
And still… I see… those faces… through the years
[Instrumental Interlude]
[Verse 4]
Disarranged landmarks… jumbled up themes…
Have multiple meanings… it would seem…
Why out of place?… cannot explain…
Still… just the same… I know… I’m not insane
[Verse 5]
Looking for home… can’t find my way…
Roadways appear…. then they decay
Faces and icons… surround…
Dreams have their reasons… they abound…
Dreams have their meanings… they confound
