2004 version performed by Along For The Ride. Recorded and mixed at OTR Studios in Belmont, CA, in 2004,
Electric Rhythm Guitar & Vocals: Tom Daggett
Electric Bass & Vocals - Paul Fifield
Electric Rhythm & Lead Guitar - Keith Shirasawa
Drums - Ken McLaren
1995 version created in my home studio.
Vocals: Paul Fifield
MIDI combo: Band-in-a-Box
MIDI Lead Guitar: Paul Fifield
I used a Roland MIDI keyboard, Studio Vision Pro (a great but now defunct Mac MIDI and digital audio sequencing app) and a Fostex 4 track cassette Porta-Studio. All backing track instruments are MIDI based synthesized sounds, generated either by Band-In-A-Box or played by me through the Roland Keyboard into Studio Vision Pro, where I then edited the MIDI tracks. After creating the backing tracks I bounced them as stereo to the Fostex where I added vocals on the other two tracks. Then I bounced the 4-track tape down to a stereo cassette tape. That was the most advanced tech available to me at the time without having to spend a fortune.
This is just a song about a person finally standing up for themselves. Nothing deeper than that. - Paul Fifield
Runnin'

When you come to me cryin' "baby"
I don't got to listen anymore .. whoa, whoa, no no no no
And when you come to me cryin' "sorry" like before
I can go walkin' out, yeah, I can go runnin' out the door
I don't got to put up with your cheatin'
No, I don’t got to listen to your lies
And I don't got to wait up while you're runnin' 'round all night
I can go walkin’ out, yeah, I can go running’ out you life
I don't need the trouble that you keep bringin' ‘round
Got to get my feet back on the ground
I can find a new love, one to treat me right
So I don't got to cry away each night
I don't need the trouble that you keep bringin' ‘round
Got to get my feet back on the ground
I can find a new love, one to treat me right
So I don't got to cry away each night
So, don’t you come to me cryin' "baby"
And don't you try to change me with your lies
I don't even care how much you beg or how you cry
I can go walkin' out, yeah, I can go runnin' out your life
I can go walkin' out, yeah, I can go runnin' out your life
I can go walkin' out, yeah, (Aw, don’t make me do it baby!)
